Helen Lawson

Helen has always written. When working on an American Summer Camp in summer '92 she wrote a poem at the end of every week with fun stories about the kids at camp. She wrote short film scripts (in Dutch) for a course she took when living in the Netherlands. When she moved back to England she wrote reviews of bars and restaurants for a local paper. After a few years of sticking microphones in the faces of celebrities as entertainment news producer of Atlantic 252 and then trying to open and run her own restaurant (not recommended) she worked hard to become a full-time copywriter. In her interview with a respected Manchester agency she told her soon-to-be boss about the stand-up comedy she'd done at a few open mic nights as well as stints on the radio and in the pig farm, and he took a chance on her. In the 4 years she spent there she managed to bag 14 industry awards for copywriting and concepting.
