Richard Swan

Richard Swan

Richard Swan was born in Somerset, where be dragons. He grew up and went to school there, within reach of Camelot and Glastonbury Tor, so he is used to magic lying just beyond the fringes of the visible world.

In later life he lived for a while in London, but he never saw unicorns so he moved to Kent and became an English teacher. He is a medievalist, specialising in Anglo-Saxon and medieval literature and arts. He now divides his time between academic work - he has published several study guides to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales - and writing novels, poetry and short stories. He also gives talks on anything from Beowulf to T.S.Eliot and Lana Del Rey.
